U.S. Senate candidate Cleve Tidwell and staff celebrate Cinco De Mayo
Denver, Colorado: United States Senate candidate Cleve Tidwell worked the crowd at Cinco de Mayo,
hoping to build strong enough support from the Latino community to beat current U.S. Senator Michael
Bennet in 2010.
Michael Bennet was recently appointed by Governor Ritter to replace Ken Salazar. Political insiders
say the governor's pick has significantly upset the Latino community. Members of this community felt
that Ritter did not give fair consideration to Latino candidates in the line to replace Salazar.
Cleve Tidwell made his formal announcement to enter the race on Thursday, May 7th at Auraria
Campus in Denver. Since then, he has held a barbeque at Colorado Springs and spent two days in
Lamar. Cleve and several campaign volunteers handed out information about his campaign and shook
hands at Cinco de Mayo during both days of the festival.
“The Hispanic population is significant here in Colorado,” said Cleve, “but many Hispanics that I have
spoken with say that their interests are being ignored. And that doesn't sit well with me.”
A volunteer staffer, Carolina, was on hand to help answer questions and to translate for the other
volunteers. “I really believe that Mr. Tidwell will represent and fight for the interests of my community,
of the Hispanic community,” was Carolina's reason for helping on his campaign.
Cleve Tidwell and his team shared a table with the Colorado chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly.

Candidate Cleve Tidwell enters race for U.S. Senate in a Big Way
It is easy to see that Cleve Tidwell is the great unknown in the race for U.S. Senate to oppose Michael
Bennet. What may not be so clear to see about the great unknown, is how quickly his support list is
growing.
Tidwell began his official announcement day at the Day of Prayer in Fort Collins. Waking up before
5am to start a day that would not end until 10pm, one may begin to wonder if it's worth the wear and
tear. Cleve had this to say about his busy day, "we're in it for the long haul, and we're not going to stop
until we get to Washington!"
By 12 noon Tidwell was situated in a student lounge at the Auraria Campus of Denver, getting ready
for a few hands of poker. The game- Poker and Politics. In this game, Tidwell was handed the role of
"socialist" poker deal. Opposing him were Jon Caldara of the Independence Institute and State
Representative Kent Lambert. The prize they are in competition for? The largest shares of the pot of
course- Jimmy John's sandwiches.
Rep. Lambert's poker table- the free market table- would win the day and largest share of sandwiches.
The lesson of the game was instructive; "I learned first hand that socialism doesn't work. And I was
able to help these students understand that in a fun way that they can relate to." Said Tidwell, "but I
sure wish I would've sat at that free market table," he added with a smile.
At one pm, Cleve Tidwell was being introduced by several college students for his official press
conference. Students have played a vital role in helping Tidwell prepare for this race, and Tidwell
wanted their efforts to be recognized.
Freshman student and College Republican Valerie Delisa spoke at the event saying that, "Cleve helped
me be proud and feel right about my Republicanism in a sea of liberal college students."
"You are the future, each and every one of you," began Tidwell, "Many of the students here at Auraria
have been so supportive with their time and energies, and have been a huge help for this
announcement. All they have asked in return is that, when I get to Washington, I encourage the other
Senators to take a serious look at making education work in America."
While he remains relatively unknown, this poker player may still have a few aces in his sleeve. In
preparing for his run, Tidwell has managed to gain support from some renewable energy companies,
who are usually missing in action from the support list of Republican candidates. Could we see a green
Republican in Colorado?
Helping to introduce Cleve at the press conference was Brett A. Murray of Frenchman Valley Energy,
LLC, a Colorado Limited Liability Company which focuses on land acquisitions and compliance issues
for potential Wind Farms. "Cleve understands the importance of energy in this country. He knows we
have plenty of sources here in Colorado, including renewables. From conversations with him, I know
he'll work to support the most efficient combination of those resources," Murray said.
Shortly after the press conference and an exclusive interview with Metro State student reporters,
Tidwell was back on his road for a 'no more bailouts' barbeque with supporters in Colorado Springs.
The barbeque was held at Acacia Park and saw more than sixty people turn out.
The management team for the campaign remains on a volunteer basis, allowing for the campaign funds
to be spent on effective voter outreach, voter support, and coalition building.

U.S. Senate Candidate to make first campaign stop in Lamar

U.S. Senate Candidate to make first campaign stop in Lamar
LAMAR, CO (5/4/2009): Cleve Tidwell, a business man in Denver, Colorado, will
be announcing his candidacy for the United States Senate this Thursday, May
7th. His first campaign stop? Lamar, Colorado. “I've met a few great people
from Lamar recently, and when they told me that their town has virtually been
ignored by politicians and campaigns in the past, I decided to help change
that. The small town folks are just as important for winning an election as
the city folks,” said Cleve Tidwell about the reasons for his visit.
“Our politicians talk about concerns of the folks on the eastern plains, but
how can we talk about their concerns if we don't visit with them and ask
them?”
Cleve Tidwell will be vying for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by
Michael Bennet. Bennet was recently appointed by Governor Ritter to the
Senate, and is considered to be fairly vulnerable. Bennet has never run for a
state wide elected office before and his age calls into question his
experience. The field of Republicans who are rumbling to oppose him is
already filling up.
When asked why he chose to run, Tidwell's answer is simple, “I had to get off
the couch when I realized the government was trying to run our businesses.
Government thinks they can run our businesses better than we can.” Tidwell is
no stranger to business; after all, he has worked in executive positions for
major companies, including a Fortune 100 company. Recently, Tidwell,
President and CEO of MoneyCafe USA, resigned in order to focus all his
efforts exclusively on the U.S. Senate race.
Tidwell believes his real world experience from the private sector as a
business owner and executive administrator that will be beneficial throughout
his efforts in the U.S. Senate. He understands the importance of interactive
business sector experience and leadership in government, and the value of
having knowledgeable business leaders who believe in the free enterprise
business system leading government.
His pick to visit Lamar is characteristic of his campaign — a new approach.
Tidwell has never run for office before, and he is focused on bringing in new
people to politics, no matter how small their town may be. “We need to
energize new voters everywhere, especially the young people. The best way to
do this is bring new ideas to D.C., ideas that are discovered by talking with
everyday folks across the state.”
Before he gets to D.C., Cleve wants to meet as many Coloradoans as he can,
starting with one very important stop--Lamar. “I am interested in bringing
people together from all of Colorado to get things done. We need to
rediscover what works for America, and that is limited government protecting
the rights of our people.” His stop in Lamar won't be a passing dust cloud,
either. He'll be there May 7th & 8th.
